Winter 2012 Batches

April 21, 2013 5 comments

Edit: I’m ending my release streak here at Day 101.
I have finals this week, so I figured this would be a good place to end it.
Again, I have final exams this week, so all my ongoing shows will be delayed until probably next week.

Here are the loooong overdue batches for a whole bunch of shows! Note that Ai Mai Mi is currently absent, as the translator hasn’t gotten around to translating the ED yet, and I haven’t re-encoded 1-3 yet.
That batch will come sometime later.

I will not be making patches, as that’ll take me a while, and these files are small anyway. If someone wants to make patches for me, feel free to post DDL links in the comments.

Osaka Okan:
Download: 720p 10bit480p 8bit
Changes: Updated TS, styling, and some edits for 1-2
BD/DVD?: We’ll do the BD bonus episode (and re-do 1.5 if it’s included on the BD). Still debating about doing the full series.

Ishida to Asakura:
Download: 720p 10bit480p 8bit
Changes: Updated styling and OP translation for 1-5.
BD/DVD?: No BD. TV is HD so we won’t be doing the DVDs (if there is a bonus episode, we’ll do it).

Hipira-kun:
Download: 720p 10bit480p 8bit
Changes: Toad->Frog (Ep4)
BD/DVD?: No. The DVD only has Eps 1-3, 6, and 10. The 3D BD only has Eps 1-3 and 10.
Eps 11-12?: They were removed from NHK-E’s schedule. Hopefully they’ll air someday.

Kaitou Reinya:
Download: 720p 8bit480p 8bit
Changes: A few instances of Reinya -> Reina (Ep2)
BD/DVD?: No BD. TV is HD so we won’t be doing the DVDs (sans the Pilot episode).

Momon-chan:
Download: 480p 8bit
Changes: Reworded the end card TS in Ep13
BD/DVD?: Nothing announced yet. Hopefully there will be though. Season 2 will stream in May.

Chiisana Ojisan:
Download: 480p 8bit
Changes: None. Re-batching to include Ep15.
BD/DVD?: There is a BD/DVD page on the official site, so it’ll get one at some point, but no dates have been announced yet.

Spring 2013 Plans

April 1, 2013 7 comments

New season is coming up, so I went ahead and took a look at the new shorts and specials that’ll be airing. As per usual, nothing here is final until we’ve started releasing.
I would like to do most of these shows, but I need more translators to make that happen! Contact me via e-mail or IRC if you’re interested in helping out!

New Shows:

Tenpou Suikouden Neo: I know this is technically a winter show, but it aired at the very end of winter season. I’ve collected raws for all the episodes (5 total: Youtube for 01, TV for 2-5 because the Youtube streams suck), and it’ll probably be the next project for the new translator, after they translate the Kaitou Reinya Pilot.

Kara the Animation: Web show, but it’s behind a paywall, and public raws haven’t surfaced. No-go.

Cyclops Shoujo Saipu: Already on it!

Gakkatsu S2: Nope. m33w’s doing it.

Tetsujin 28-gou Gao!: It was a possibility at first, but I learned that it’s going to be replacing a show that’s over 1500 episodes long! I don’t want to work on a never-ending show, so it’s a no-go.

Mini-van: Seems to be flash anime shorts of Cardfight Vanguard. I never watched the show, so no-go.

Haitai Nanafa S2: Sigh-Kaylith will do it once it airs on AT-X.

Dibetagurashi: Like Tenpou Suikouden Neo, it’ll air within the morning block of another show. Might do it if I can get caps for it.

Glass no Kamen Desu ga: I’ll do it if it gets simulcast on CR. If it’s not, I probably won’t do it, as DLE’s flash shorts always have super crazy dialog.

Ketsuekigata-kun: Definitely. If CR simulcasts it, I’ll use their script. If not, we’ll translate it ourselves.

Sparrow’s Hotel: Definitely, since I’m on a mission to sub ALL the Hotline shows! CR will be simulcasting it in 480p on Tuesdays, so if I can get a KBS cap, we’ll do an HD release on Tuesdays. If not, we’ll cap the Thursday TVS airing.

Airua: This’ll be simulcast on CR, but other groups will pick it up, so I won’t bother.

Heisei Policemen: Young Jump’s next web anime. First episode will stream on April 11th. We might do it.

Koitabi True Tours Nanto: There probably won’t be any raws for it, but if I can find any, and if nobody else subs it, we’ll do it.

Miyakawa-ke no Kuufuku: Lucky Star spinoff, so it’ll be oversubbed.

Odoriko Clinoppe: Don’t even know if this is going to air/stream, but I guess I’ll keep an eye on it.

…and more?

Fall 2012 Batches & Winter 2012 Plans

January 21, 2013 2 comments

These batches are a bit late, but I blame that on me being away for most of December and the beginning of January. To start things off, here are the batches of shows I’ve worked on this past Fall:

Chiisana Ojisan:
480p Batch
(I’m not sure if this show is over yet, but I haven’t seen any new episodes in over a month)

Suzy’s Zoo:
480p DVD Batch

UN-GO Specials:
720p Hi10P Batch480p H264 Batch

…yeah, not many projects, but that’s all about to change!

I hope I’m not setting myself up to burn-out, but I’ve decided to pick up a whole slew of projects this season, consisting of both new and old shows:

Older Shows:

Neon the Animation: Joint with ray=out. Short episodes designed to promote the Nipponbashi shopping district in Osaka. New episodes are shown on the shopping center TVs in March, and are expected to be uploaded to Youtube the following month. There are currently 3 shorts, with a 4th expected to drop this coming April.

Hipira-kun: 2009 series that’s being re-aired in HD on NHK-E. 1-10 have already re-aired, and the currently-unsubbed episodes 11-12 will air in March. We’ll be using Sakitty’s subs for 1-10, but we’ll translate 11-12 ourselves.

New Shows:

Haitai Nanafa: I know some other groups have already subbed it, but I’ll be going forward with it anyway. Right now, the first two episodes are pretty much done, but the translator is being held up by the somewhat wacky ED song. I don’t have any sort of ETA on when it’ll be ready. Dropped. Sigh-Kaylith’s release is fine, so I’m going to focus my time on other unsubbed/poorly subbed shows. If they epicly stall or drop it, I’ll pick up from where they left off.

Peeping Life World History: 6th Season in the Peeping Life series. I’m not really a big fan of the series, but it shouldn’t really take too much time to throw together.

Boku no Imouto wa Osaka Okan: Like I’ve stated earlier, we’ll be taking CR’s subs and redoing all of their typesetting. We’ll also do the webstream-only Episode 01.5 at a later date.

Ishida to Asakura: CR’s video (filtered) and subs, plus OP translation, plus the important signs missing from the CR/NicoNico streams that were present in the Tokyo MX broadcast. Here’s an example of what I mean:
CR/NicoNicoTokyo MX

Jigoku Yochien: I’m not going to focus on this show just yet, but I’ll continue to collect raws for it, to sub at a later date. If nobody else picks it up, we’ll sub it in a few months.

…wow, even I’m amazed at how much I’m doing.

And this marks my 11th consecutive day of releases! Let’s see how much longer I can keep this up! (Two batches count as one release, because I say so!)

Winter 2012 Plans

January 9, 2013 9 comments

Finally back! I’ve somehow survived the winter break (and 12/21, I guess), so let’s get down to business! We haven’t made any final decisions on what shows to pick up, but this list will let you all know what we might pick up and what we won’t pick up. This list will be updated periodically, so be sure to check back later.
Again, there’s no guarantee that we’ll pick up any of these shows. This is just me dreaming big.

Also, we really need an extra translator to help speed up most of our projects (most of which are not listed below). If you’re interested in helping out, leave a comment, shoot me an email, or contact me on IRC!

Backlog:

Basket Army – Episode 5 is @TL. ETA: a day after TL is done 😛

Chiisana Ojisan – I haven’t seen any raws for 9+ yet. I’ll batch 1-8 for now, and keep an eye out for new episodes.

Koi-ken – Translator is still working on the last 15mins (I hope).

Plastic Nee-san – I haven’t sent Ep8 to the translator yet, so the delays are totally my fault >_>

Suzy’s Zoo – I should have this finished up relatively soon.

Yurumates 3Dei – S1 BD is encoded (thanks Desbreko!). S2 BD hasn’t been obtained yet. OVAs are being translated.

Everything Else – Hasn’t moved at all.

Winter 2012 Shows:

Haitai NanafaNo transport streams, so I’ve been comparing the video quality of various raws. Actual work should begin soon. I went ahead and pretimed the dialog and typeset all of the signs. The translator should begin working on this tomorrow. Some transport streams for 1-4 popped up on Share and torrents. Transport stream for 1-2 is really bad, so I’ll just stick with Share raws for 1-2.

Peeping Life: World History – Not really a fan of this series, but it’s being streamed with English subs on Youtube, so I might just do it for the hell of it.

Monchicchiisu – Aired over a month ago, but there are still no raws, so it’s a no-go.

Boku no Imouto wa “Osaka Okan” – Simulcast by CR, but their typesetting is severely lacking, so I might rework CR’s subs with better typesetting. Their video quality seems a bit lacking (I see some aliasing), so I’ll compare it to the BS-Asahi raws and see which one looks best. BS-Asahi has some bad keyframes, so CR’s video with some filtering is the way to go.
(And there’s an Episode 1.5 that didn’t air on TV, so CR never subbed it…)

Inferno Cop – Not sure if this should even qualify as anime, but Commie’s release should be fine. I won’t pick it up unless there’s sufficient demand for it.

Puchimas! Petit Idolmaster – Chibiki/UTW is doing a good job, so I won’t bother.

Yama no Susume – Simulcast by CR, but their video quality is kinda meh. Commie’s doing it, so I’m not going to bother.

Mangirl! – Simulcast by CR, but their video seems to have some problems (lost of ghosting), and there’s a ton of typsetting. Commie’s doing it, so I won’t bother.

Ai Mai Mi – Simulcast by CR. They aren’t even streaming this in HD, so TV raws are the only way to go. If I can get a translation for the crazy ED, I might pick this up. The video quality on all 3 broadcasting stations is pretty poor, so I’m just going to wait for… well, no BDs have been announced, so I guess DVDs?

Ishida to Asakura – Simulcast by CR. Their video quality looks good. Might just do this for the hell of it once the OP is translated. The CR and NicoNico streams are missing all of the signs that were in the Tokyo MX airing (The episode title, a name tag, and “To Be Continued”). Guess I’ll just have to add them back in!

Line Offline Salaryman – Airs three days a week. Luckily raws are being uploaded, and the show seems good, so it’s a possibility. Saizen is doing it, so I’m not going to bother (although I’ll keep an eye on them and see if they epicly stall/drop it later).

Senyuu. – Simulcast by CR. Commie’s doing it, so I’m not going to bother.

Gudaguda Fairies 2 – Simulcast by CR. I’m not a fan of discussion-only shows, so this’ll be a no-go.

Ganbare! Oden-kun – Found a 360p raw for 01. It’s a bit too kiddy for my liking, but I’ll save it for a rainy day maybe.

Beast Saga – Kids show that airs on TV Tokyo in the mornings. This’ll probably be a very long series, so it’s a no-go.

Jigoku Youchien – Stream on NicoNico. If they livestream-only this show, I won’t be able to obtain any raws. If they post the episodes so that they can be watched at any time, I might rip it and sub it. Good, it’s easy to rip. I’ll consider it.

Ganbare! Lulu Lolo – Kids show that airs daily. I doubt it’ll get capped. Seeing as it’s an NHK show, it’ll probably be 100+ episodes long, so it’s a no-go.

Hetalia: The Beautiful World – Funimation will probably simulcast it (and you know how DMCA-happy they get). It’s only being streamed on Animate TV, and I haven’t tried ripping from there yet, but the video quality is bound to be bad. No-go.

…AND MORE!

Happy Holidays!

December 24, 2012 4 comments

This post is kind of belated, but I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Both the translators and I have, and will continue to be, busy with family for the rest of the year, but we’ll be back in 2013!

Although the new anime season has already kicked off, we haven’t really had time to discuss what shows to work on. We’ll look into the new shows once I’m back from vacation.

Look forward to lots of releases from us next year!

Fall 2012 Plans (Updated)

October 6, 2012 8 comments

Fall’s here! Some shows have started already, some have yet to air. Unfortunately, the site that I was grabbing transport streams from has shut down, so it’ll be difficult for me to get quality raws for some shows. So, I’m looking for a capper to record some shows for me. I’m also looking for some translators and timers to help speed up other shows.

Anyway, here’s a brief rundown of what I’d like to do, and what I won’t do. Of course, I’ll be waiting a week to see if any other quality subs pick up these shows first. Don’t want to oversub if I don’t have to:

What I’d like to do:
Chiisana Ojiisan: Episodes are short and simple, so might as well. Don’t have any good raws, so it’ll be 480p only. I’ll have the first two episodes out after I get back from class later today.
Haitai Nanafa: Still no raws at all for this show. I’ll continue to keep an eye out for some, but I doubt any will turn up.

What I won’t do:
Teekyuu: Commie and Crunchyroll are doing it.
Wooser no Sono Higurashi: Interrobang is doing it.
Litchi DE Hikari Club: Crunchyroll is doing it. (If CR is an SD Upscale, I’ll rework their script and mux to a TV raw.)
Oshiri Kajiri Mushi: Gave it a watch. It’s really, really stupid, and is more of a cartoon than an anime.
Dangerious Jii-san Ja: Season 2. Season 1 was never subbed, and there are no raws available for it.
Backstage Idol Story: It’s a discussion-based 3D CGI anime similar to gdgd faeries. I’d prefer not to work on a discussion-heavy show.
